A 26-year-old woman and a 27-year-old man were fatally and injured, respectively, in a violent shooting incident in Auburn Gresham yesterday afternoon. According to police, the victims were shot while inside a vehicle parked at approximately 1:25 p.m. on South May Street. The car struck an SUV as it sped away from the scene.
The woman, who was shot multiple times, tragically succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead at Little Company of Mary Medical Center. In stark contrast, the male victim sustained non-life-threatening injuries but was transported to Christ Medical Center in stable condition. To the relief of authorities, the driver of the SUV involved refused medical attention.
Despite a thorough response from law enforcement, no arrests have been made as of press time. The police are actively investigating this senseless crime scene and urge anyone with information to come forward.

like what's the point of even having a police department if they can't even keep our streets safe? and now they're just sitting back waiting for people to come forward with info... meanwhile, the guy who did this is probably out there somewhere laughing all the way to his next meal 
and what really gets me is that the driver of the SUV just walked away like it was no big deal... that's the real tragedy here
... I mean, two young lives lost already... it's just not fair. I know some people might say the guy who drove that SUV into the car was reckless or whatever, but I don't think he should be treated like a villain right off the bat. Maybe there's more to the story than we're being told? Like, what if he was in a situation where he had to do something crazy to protect himself or someone else? Idk... maybe it's not our place to judge. The cops are doing their thing and all, but I wish they'd be a little more understanding and less quick to pin everything on one person. We shouldn't be so hasty to condemn without knowing the whole story

what's going on in our city right now? it feels like we're living in a nightmare 
i mean, speedin away from a crime scene? that's just askin 4 more trouble

these police investigations take forever it's like they're chasing shadows over here. i'm glad the guy wasn't as lucky as the girl but stable condition, that's not good enough for anyone who's been through something like this...
. According to FBI data (2022), firearm-related deaths increased by 15% in Chicago alone... and we gotta keep in mind the whole country is still dealing with COVID-19 aftermaths, not to mention climate change & economic stressors... it's like our society's just getting more complicated, ya know?
