Replied by bbear on topic The ULTIMATE Donation List. First to LI mom. A tricky tray is also known as a penny auction. Your organization collects donations from families, businesses, etc. The donations are put on display.

People buy tickets, put them in for the prizes they want and later you pull a ticket from that bucket for that prize. If the number matches that person wins the prize. Tricky Trays are very popular and make a lot of money if they are done right. Every now and then I re-post the original guidelines from slfournier for this thread:. I’ve noticed that a lot of the listings for auction/raffle donations are quite old. Both the economy and company policies change over time, so I am starting a new Thread. I

have found it tedious to go through pages and pages of a thread to get what we all really want – Names and contact info of national corporate donors people have been successful with. So, I ask the following:. PLEASE:.

  • 1) Only list sources you have had success with.
  • 2) If you have questions for a poster, please contact them directly – not through this thread. This thread is supposed to be a Listing. COMPANY NAME. — Mailing Address -or- URL for online form.

I found this list yesterday started at pg 1 & have gone from there. Within 30mins, I had my first prize: the Keurig. I would have never thought of them! Our event is called Basket Bash. It is in March. I acutally just started my mail outs 2 days ago. I mailed over 250 out yesterday with the help of this board & also sending to local businesses. Here is how ours goes: We are a small private school approx. 130 High 5’s-8th grade. So there is only 1 of each teacher.

The teachers allow themselves to be “auctioned” for lunch with the teacher. Special teachers to it to, our gym teacher also does a free basketball lesson (cause he charges), a free archery lesson (with our archery coach), free lunches for amonth (we have NO hot daily lunch, a gramma donates her time every Wed & Fri for those who purchase her lunch). The teacher has the choice of taking them out to lunch or ordering in.

We can do this since we are a private school. (Principal, secretary, participate also–we are tight-knit school)….Also a class pizza party that the PTSF pays for. (The child whos tix is picked wins for the whole class). We then have each classroom do a themed basket. In the past: Webkinz, Gift card tree, Americana, Rainy Day, Road Trip, Legos, etc… I was have the authority to auction off the front row seats to our Spring & Xmas musicals.

This doenst even cost anything! We do pay for stuff, we pay the offset for Kalahari donation. We buy the bikes, but I watch Target like a hawk for when they’re 75% off. Usually get 2 bikes. Hopefully this yr. I can get some $ donations to purchase a Nook Color EBook. Last yr. our big prize was the Nintendo DSiXL (It came out 2 days later–the local game stop had givven me a box for promotion). Anyway~We do it by buying tix.

There is usually 3 different $ levels. the teacher lunches/pizza party/Rosies lunch/etc are 10/$1…I used to do Themed baskets 3/$1 (but with the gift card basket last yr being worth $140 I couldnt justify it). So this yr. anything worth $25 or less will be in the 3/$1tix. …then the rest is 1/$1 or like 20 for $18…I adjust & you get some bonus tix. Then we set up a printer & print labels for people who are willing to pay for them.I usually do a lot in presale tix becasue people want to write their names on them. I jus put name/phone#. We charge like $2/sheet to do the labels. Then you stick the tix in the box of the prize you wanna win. Last yr. we raised about $7500 (our highest in the 3yrs. of doing it).

I’m hoping with using this board I can break $10,000 this yr. It would be awesome. Does anyone have any advise about this for me? Do you think I’m doing it right? There was a girl who started this that left the school. She did it for 2yrs.. I helped her 1yr. Then she was not very kind to me. So didnt help her the nxt yr.

I far exceded what she brought in in those 2yrs. with my last yrs. #. I would love to make this a huge event this yr. Replied by Danielle on topic The ULTIMATE Donation List. I received so many wonderful addresses and contacts from all of you. I wanted to give you an update on Charisma Brand Dolls (Marie Osmond Dolls). Below is the email I just received. Dear Friends,. We recently received your donation request for your event, however, Charisma Brands has made a change concerning our donation policy. Beginning immediately we will be making a donation at the end of the year to a charity yet to be determined.

How we review donation requests: In recent years we have given hundreds and hundreds of whale watching seats away in an effort to support a wide variety of charitable organizations. Unfortunately, as time has passed we have become overloaded with requests and can no longer say yes to everyone, so we have borrowed an idea from another like-minded organization. Each Friday we place into a hat all the requests we currently have from that week as well as previous weeks and draw a winner!

If your organization is selected, we will notify you in writing via email and attach the gift certificates as well as any other pertinent information you have requested. If your organization was not selected, we will keep your request in the drawing until you are either the winner or the date of your event has passed. Thank you and good luck!
