Chicago Bears Promote Braxton Jones to Active Roster, Sign Linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin
The Chicago Bears have made a pair of moves on their injury report, promoting left tackle Braxton Jones from injured reserve and signing linebacker Jalen Reeves-Maybin.
Jones suffered a knee injury in Week 7, causing him to be placed on IR, but now he's set to back up Theo Benedet, who stepped in for the injured Ozzy Trapilo during their last game against the Packers.
Meanwhile, Reeves-Maybin, a linebacker who was with the Bears' practice squad before their first-round playoff game, has been signed to active roster. He played only eight defensive snaps in that game but may now see more playing time after being promoted.
However, his signing comes at a cost as the Bears have had to remove linebacker Nephi Sewell from their practice squad. Sewell's brothers Noah and Penei are with the Saints and Lions respectively.
The moves come amid an intense playoff run for both teams. While the 49ers seem more formidable on paper, the Rams' scoring prowess presents a threat that the Bears' defense has struggled to address.

. They need to find that consistency on both sides of the ball if they wanna take down the 49ers and make a deep run in the playoffs 
The thing is, I remember when the Bears had that great defense back in the day, and now they're trying to put together something special... it'll be interesting to see how it all plays out.

i mean, 49ers look tough this year but rams are lookin pretty fierce too 
So I think it's cool that the Bears are making moves to get Braxton Jones back in the mix, he was doing a great job before the injury 
. And signing Jalen Reeves-Maybin is a solid addition, especially with their playoff run heating up 
. But hey, with these moves, they're looking more confident about taking down those Rams 
. And let's be real, who doesn't love an underdog story? 
gotta wonder what nephi sewell's story is tho 
. 8 defensive snaps for jalen reeves-maybin in his first game back is decent but not exactly a powerhouse 
... guess he'll have to prove himself elsewhere

and it's interesting to see how these roster moves might impact the Chicago Bears' chances... Braxton Jones is definitely a plus after coming off IR, but I worry about the depth at linebacker - Nephi Sewell was a solid presence on that side of the ball. Jalen Reeves-Maybin might be able to fill some of that void, but it's gonna be tough against teams like LA with all that scoring power 
meanwhile, jalen reeves-maybin's signing is cool but i'm still not sure how much of an impact he'll make...the seahawks' run defense was a nightmare last week so i doubt the bears can just expect to blow them out 
. And signing jalen reeves-maybin might give them an extra boost on defense 
. And don't even get me started on Adams and Kittle
