A woman's life was cut short in Brooklyn early Friday morning when she was struck by a car while crossing the street. The vehicle, described as gray, was traveling west down Pitkin Avenue near Mother Gaston Boulevard around 6:50 a.m. when it collided with the pedestrian.

This is getting crazy out there. I remember when Pitkin Avenue wasn't so bad, you know? People were always chillin', just hangin' out. Now it's like everyone's in a rush all the time. It's scary thinkin' about what could've been done to prevent this from happenin'. 19% is still too many, especially in an area that's already strugglin'. I hope they catch whoever did this and get some answers. We need to look out for each other on the streets
