We Found Two Theaters With Sold-Out ‘Melania’ Opening Day Screenings

Only Two Theaters Have Sold-Out 'Melania' Opening Day Screenings, Despite Lavish Promotion Efforts.

A recent analysis of nearly 1,400 showtimes for the Amazon Prime Video original film "Melania" found that there are still plenty of seats available unless you live near two specific theaters: AMC Classic Indian River 24 in Vero Beach, Florida, and AMC Independence Commons 20 in Independence, Missouri.

Despite President Donald Trump's and production studio Amazon MGM Studios' efforts to promote the film, only a handful of showtimes have sold out. The movie is about Trump's third wife Melania, with a trailer featuring her walking around various grand rooms while wearing sunglasses.

The White House hosted a special screening for a group of CEOs before the film's release. Amazon spent $40 million on the rights and another $35 million in marketing.

US box office performance has been declining over the past few years, but "Melania" is an exception. In the UK, only one ticket was sold for the 3:10 pm screening at a flagship London cinema until recently, when that number jumped to 13.

Amazon MGM Studios did not respond to requests for comment on the film's ticket sales.

I'm shocked, honestly... 🤔 I mean, you'd think with all those millions of dollars invested in marketing and promotion, more theaters would be sold out by now. It just goes to show that the system can't guarantee box office success no matter how much money is spent on advertising. I guess it's not a bad thing for the film, though - if people aren't lining up around the block, maybe they're actually going to watch it critically and not just mindlessly follow the crowd. And let's be real, Amazon MGM Studios has proven that they can promote something without breaking the bank... or in this case, spending $75 million on a movie 🤑

I'm like "yaaas" to Amazon Prime Video finally bringing out some good content 🎥! I mean, you'd think with all the money they spent ($75 million total) and all that promo fuss, more people would be flocking to theaters. But for real tho, I guess that just means we're gonna have a chill night in or something 😂. And hey, at least there's still time to catch it on Prime if you can't get tickets! Silver linings right? 🌞

idk why ppl r surprised tho, its just a biopic about trumps wife 😂 the movie trailer looked kinda boring, and the plot sounds super predictable... i mean its not like it's gonna be some epic game-changer in cinema history 🎥 anyway, 40 million on marketing is just wild 💸 whoever said this film would do well must've been bluffing 🤑

I'm so confused about this movie "Melania" 🤔. I mean, it's about Melania Trump, but I don't think people were expecting a big screen show about her life? It seems like Amazon spent a lot of money on marketing, but still not many people are showing up to watch the movie. I'm actually kinda surprised that more theaters weren't sold out, considering all the hype around it 🎥. Is there something I'm missing? Shouldn't someone's movie about their ex-wife sell well? 😕

idk what's goin on with this movie... i mean, it's about melania trump? i thought people would be super interested in seein her story, but nope? only two theaters sold out and that's it 🤔. i think amazon spent way too much money on promo tryin to get ppl excited. $75 million was a lot for one movie... anyway, guess some ppl just aren't watchin this flick 😐

🤔😒 "When you spend $75 million to promote a movie about your ex-wife 🚫💁‍♀️ and still can't sell out the theaters... guess that's what they mean by 'fake news' 📰 #TrumpFailedMovie" 😂🎥

Can't believe they're raking it in with just two theaters lol 🤣. I mean, I've seen some pricey flicks before but this one takes the cake. Trump's wife getting her own biopic and Amazon shelling out like that you'd think there'd be more buzz around it. Guess you need to live near those two Indian River and Independence theaters in Florida and Missouri to get a seat 🎥👀. Wonder what other factors are at play here, maybe some online stuff I'm not aware of? Anyway, box office performance being all over the place is wild - declining US numbers but they're bucking that trend with this one. Guess you just gotta give it a try if you wanna see Melania's fancy ways 🤷‍♀️.

idk what's going on with this movie lol 😂 they spent like $75 million on marketing and still can't get ppl excited about it? I mean i know some people might be salty about trump, but i thought amazon would at least try to promote the actual content of the movie 🤔. plus, who wears sunglasses in a movie about their third wife? 🙄 that trailer was so weird. anyway, gotta wonder if this is just an example of how hard it is for indie movies to get some traction these days or what...

Umm... I mean... 🤔 I guess you'd think a movie about Melania Trump would be a big draw, right? I mean, who doesn't want to see their ex-wife's face on the big screen in sunglasses? 😂 Like, I'm sold out at the two theaters that aren't sold out. Can't wait for my seat at the 3:10 pm showing in London... said no one ever 🙃

i think its pretty clear why "melania" is struggling at the box office... people just aren't interested in trump biopics anymore lol 🤣 especially after all the drama and scandals surrounding his presidency. and let's be real, who wants to watch a movie about some dude walking around in sunglasses when you can binge-watch a show like "the queen's gambit" on netflix 📺👑

omg can u believe it?? like, they put so much effort and money into promoting this movie & still only two theaters are sold out? 🤯🍿 i mean, i know trump is a polarizing figure but 40 million bucks?? that's insane! 🤑 and the fact that people aren't biting is kinda surprising too. u'd think with all the hype around melania (the wife, not the first lady lol) ppl would wanna see this movie. maybe its just me but i'm intrigued now tbh

I'm kinda surprised by this news 🤔. I mean, Trump's name is always gonna bring in crowds, but you'd think with all the hype around Melania and the trailer looking super fancy 💃, more theaters would be sold out already. Maybe it's just a case of people not being that into biopics about their exes? Or maybe Amazon just didn't do enough to get people excited? Either way, I'm kinda disappointed in myself for not seeing this movie sooner 😐. And can you imagine how weird it must be watching Trump's wife on the big screen with his face plastered all over your brain 🤯. Anyway, I guess we'll just have to wait and see if "Melania" is a box office hit or a flop 👀.

I'm kinda surprised at this one... like, you'd think with all the hype and promotion, there'd be sold-out showtimes left and right. I mean, Trump's wife is a pretty big deal, even if she did leave him. But yeah, unless you're in Vero Beach or Independence, it's pretty easy to cop tickets for "Melania". 🤔 I guess people just aren't that into the film? 🎥 The trailer does look kinda cool tho, Melania does rock those sunglasses 😎. 40 million on rights and another 35 million on marketing? That's a lotta cash for not-so-mega box office returns... 💸

🤔 I mean, you'd think a movie about Trump's wife would be all over theaters right now, but I guess that's just not the case 🎬. $75 million marketing budget and still struggling to sell out showtimes? That's crazy 💸. And what's up with the special screening at the White House? It feels like they're trying to create some kind of buzz around this movie, but it's not translating to box office numbers 📊. I'm just curious, are people really that apathetic towards Trump-related content or is there something else going on here? The film itself has been getting decent reviews, so I don't get why ticket sales are being so slow 🔮. Maybe it's just a weird case of movie fatigue 😴...

omg u think amazon spent like $75 mil on melania and they cant even sell out some screens lol 🤦‍♂️ those two theaters in florida and missouri must be like super popular or something! but seriously, 40 mil on marketing seems a lot for one movie. maybe the film just isnt that good? i mean we dont know anything about it except its about melania. u think amazon made a bad investment 🤑

Ugh, what a surprise 🤷‍♂️... I mean, how come these two theaters in Florida and Missouri are the only ones with sold-out showings? Like, what even is going on with Amazon's marketing efforts here? They spent $40 million on rights and another $35 million on ads, but it still didn't work 🤑. And the White House screening for CEOs was probably just a PR stunt to make everyone think the film is actually good 🙄. I mean, Trump's wife in sunglasses walking around fancy rooms? Sounds like a total snooze-fest 😴. Guess I'm not the only one who's underwhelmed by this movie...

I'm dying over here! Like I just wanna see Melania in action, but it seems like nobody wants to shell out the cash. I mean, $40 million and $35 million marketing? That's a lotta moolah! You'd think more people would be hyped for this one... I heard the trailer is kinda bland tho... *shrugs* Guess I'll just have to wait it out or find someone to watch with 🤔🍿

I'm kinda surprised by this news 🤔. I mean, you'd think with all the hype and promotion around "Melania" that it would be selling out everywhere. I guess even with Amazon's big bucks and all that, some shows are still really quiet 🔇. It's not like they didn't try, either - $75 million in marketing is a lot! 💸 Maybe people just aren't interested in the film? Or maybe it's because of Trump... 🤷‍♂️ Either way, I'm kinda curious to see how it does at the box office. Would love to know more about what went wrong 😊

I'm like super surprised by this news 🤯... I mean, I knew it wouldn't be easy getting people hyped about Melania's story on screen, but two sold-out screenings? That's pretty meh. Don't get me wrong, $75 million marketing budget is no joke 💸, and having the White House host a screening for CEOs is like, a big deal 🎉... But I guess some people just aren't that into Melania's life story. The film itself has all this lavish production value - fancy sets, sunglasses-wearing Melania strutting around... it should've been more of a draw, you know? And yet, those two theaters in Vero Beach and Independence are basically the only ones with sold-out showtimes. Maybe the US box office just isn't ready for this film yet? 🤔
